Dash cam footage from a Tesla shows the car's autopilot function predicting a car accident before anyone saw it coming.
In the clip,Pawan And Pooja (2020) Complete Web Series first uploaded to Twitter by Hans Noordsij, a group of cars can be seen traveling down the A2 highway in the Netherlands.
The Forward Collision Warning on the Tesla beeps, and the emergency braking system kicks in. A brief moment later, the vehicle in front of the Tesla rear ends and SUV, which then flips before quickly coming to a stop.

As Noordsij points out on Twitter, the impressive part here is not only that the Tesla's autopilot radar feature predicted the crash, but it was able to recognize what was coming two cars ahead of the driver.
According to Noordsij, the Telsa's emergency braking kicked in before he himself took over and applied the brakes manually. He also shared on Twittter that the drivers involved in the accident escaped without major injury.
In September, Telsa announced that its autopilot upgrade would rely heavily on this feature. The update was pushed out to its first generation autopilot hardware.
"The most significant upgrade to Autopilot will be the use of more advanced signal processing to create a picture of the world using the onboard radar," the company wrote in a blog post.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently teased that HW2 should be receiving its upgrade soon.
