Avengers 4may close a chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe980 Archives but it's by no means the end of this beloved franchise. Disney CEO Bob Iger said as much on Tuesday – these movies are too popular to disappear forever.

The MCU was always going to continue, so it's not a big surprise that we'll see big superhero team-ups in future phases. Just don't put your money on a fifth Avengersmovie with Captain America, Iron Man, and the other originals. But an Avengerswith Black Panther, Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, and Ant-Man? We're listening.
Disney also recently acquired 21st Century Fox and is in the process of securing rights to the company's Marvel properties, any of which could be integrated into the Avengers series (*cough* X-Men *cough*) or create an entire new MCU.
