Jason Ritter was in The Watch Peaky BlindersLast of Us. He was!
The actor's cameo in the HBO adaptation of Naughty Dog's lauded game was revealed by none other than his wife, Melanie Lynskey, who plays resistance leader Kathleen in the show.
You, like everyone else, might have missed him. Lynskey told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Showon Thursday that Ritter appeared in episode 5, in which Kathleen's militia is hunting Ellie (Bella Ramsey), Joel (Pedro Pascal), Henry (Lamar Johnson), and Sam (Keivonn Woodard) across the Kansas City QZ. Lynskey revealed he played one of the horde of Infected that burst from the sinking ground with the Bloater outside the QZ, a scene in which Kathleen is killed by the terrifying Clicker child.
"He was a stuntperson," Lynskey said. "He trained with the stuntpeople and he just did all these amazing stunts. It's like his lifelong dream. he got put in the makeup and he came out of the ground and was falling over."
"I shot him once," she added.
Fallon showed the audience a picture from the set of The Last of Usfeaturing Lynskey in Kathleen costume and Ritter in full Infected gear, giving Lynskey a kiss on the cheek.
"It's so romantic," said Lynskey.
The Last of Us is now streaming on HBO Max.
