Of course Paris Hilton voted for Donald Trump in the U.S. presidential election. They go way back.

While the DJ and Horror Archiveskeen purveyor of perfumes is something of an ironic meme poster girl online, in real life she's all about loyalty.

While appearing on Australian panel program The Project, Hilton was bombarded with political questions from the hosts.

They started light at first, noting that "people have crunched the numbers" and found that the heiress is "better at business than Donald Trump." Host Waleed Aly then asked Hilton if she was surprised to hear it.

"It's very flattering to hear that ... about the president of the United States," she said, although she didn't seem very surprised, TBH. Also, he's not POTUS just yet, Paris.

Then the panel interrogated Hilton about her 2004 book Confessions of an Heiress, which includes a glowing quote from "President Trump" on the back cover.

"It's pretty amazing," she says. "I've known him my entire life and he's always been incredibly supportive of me, so I'm very proud to have that on my book."

Then came the moment we were (ahem) all waiting for. Did she vote for him? "I've known him since I'm [sic] a little girl," Hilton said. "So yes."

Listen. We've all known people since we were little girls. You can't choose your family or their friends. But you can choose your president. The two are indeed mutually exclusive.

And here we were, thinking that Paris Hilton's persona was an ironic deconstruction of traditional feminism in a post-modern world. Sigh.

The conversation then turned to whether Hilton would run for president one day.

"Sounds good, I like the ring to that," she said. "President Paris. I like that."

And yes, in that scenario, she would definitely paint the White House pink. "It would look so much better," she said.
