Hollywood's award season is cat3korean | Adult Movies Onlineofficially underway, and Golden Globes host Seth Meyers knew exactly how to kick it off.
In an opening monologue often met with nervous, punctured laughter, Meyers' spoke at length about Hollywood's harassment problem and the fallout it's still seeing. He also highlighted the activists present as guests to highlight the work of the Time's Up movement, and even threw in some Trump humor to ground us ("The Hollywood Foreign Press; a string of three words that could not have been better designed to infuriate our president").

"Happy new year, Hollywood," he continued. "It's 2018, marijuana is finally allowed, and sexual harassment finally isn't. It's gonna be a good year."
Meyers joked at his own expense about being a white male host and perhaps an awards show guinea pig for the hosting gig, "like the first dog they shot into outer space."
Perhaps the most seemingly contentious material Meyers had was about Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey, two of the most prominent names fallen from favor after allegations of sexual misconduct. Meyers suggested that Christopher Plummer replace Spacey on House of Cardsjust as he did in All the Money in the World, and he had no sympathy for Weinstein.
"Don’t worry," Meyers said. "He’ll be back in 20 years when he becomes the first person ever booed during the 'In memoriam.'"
Meyers then took a page out of his own book to do a version of his regular talk show segment "Jokes Seth Can't Tell." Meyers had microphones sent into the crowd to various attendees – Jessica Chastain, Billy Eichner, Issa Rae, and Amy Poehler – to deliver punch lines to jokes he set up. Even though he had the hosting gig, Meyers recognized that this isn't his moment to talk, but to listen.
