Are you familiar with the words that adorn the statue of Jebediah Springfield?Saigon Sunset

In the Simpsonsepisode "Lisa the Iconoclast," the children of Springfield are shown a video telling the story of the town's founder, Jebediah Springfield. In the propaganda film, Springfield speaks these immortal words.

If you search for the definition of embiggen, Merriam-Webster yields this definition.

It's pretty galling that Jebediah doesn't get a mention, although Merriam-Webster does put the first usage in 1996, which is when "Lisa the Iconoclast" aired.

Still, credit where credit is due. Lots of people showed their appreciation for the legitimisation of embiggen.
