An Australian man faces a huge fine after using his drone to fly to a local hardware store to pick up a sausage sandwich.

"Sausage sizzles" are basically social institutions in Australia, offering the opportunity to eat a cheap BBQ lunch and donate money to a local charity at the same time.

While it is legal to fly a drone recreationally, there is strict rules around flying in and around areas with lots of people. You know, because of the whole accidentally falling onto someone thing.
Everyday Australians who understand the sanctity of the "Bunnings sausages sizzle" however, took to Twitter leaping to the defence of the accused, who may have to pay A$9000 ($6979) according to EFTMjust because he was hungry.
