If you're suddenly seeing a lot of #content and China Archivesonline freakouts about CW's Jane the Virgin, it's not just because of a shocking Season 4 finale – it's because Janeis and has been one of TV's best shows since its inception in 2014.

And the great news for you is that it's at your fingertips.

First off, a quick recap: Jane Gloriana Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez) is 23 and waiting until marriage to have sex. When we meet her, she's dating dashing detective Michael Cordero (Brett Dier), but then becomes accidentally artificially inseminated with the sperm of Rafael Solano (Justin Baldoni) due to a mixup at the gynecologist's office.

That sounds like a lot, and it's really only the beginning. Janeis a telenovela (based on the Venezuelan Juana la virgen), so if you lack the threshold for a healthy dose of magical realism and plot lines like secret twins and frequent attempted murder, this may not be for you. (But it probably is! Pro tip: Watch the first two episodes before you make a judgment call.)

What distinguishes Janefrom so much other melodramatic fare (as a lifelong viewer of Bollywood movies, it was right up my alley), is an unwavering sincerity in the writing and performances. There is impeccable attention to story and character, and we do not deserve authenticity and talent that is Rodriguez, the show's glowing heart. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll gasp with surprise, and you'll genuinely fall in love with this beautiful family of characters and their chaotic world.

Thanks to a sweet deal, CW shows end up on Netflix eight days following the season finale, which means Season 4 of Janewill be up by the time you binge 1-3 (available now).
