Google is Watch The Hills Have Thighs (2010) full movierumored to launch a new tiny smart speaker to take on the Echo Dot at the Pixel 2 event next month — and if a new leak is legit, we now have some more insight about the product's name, pricing info, and even a first look at the design.
The device, which is a much smaller speaker than the OG Google Home, is expected to be called the Google Home Mini and cost just $49, according to Android blog Droid Life.
The site posted a slew of leaks about Google's upcoming slate of releases, but didn't specify where all the info and images came from. The Home Mini report only cites "information we’ve viewed" — but the details confirm earlier rumors.
The Home Mini will come in Chalk, Charcoal, and Coral colors, with affixed bases that match the muffin-like tops. Unlike the larger version, you won't be able to mix-and-match different looks by swapping out the bases. Multi-colored LED lights will signal when you're interacting with Google Assistant.

The Home Mini will look to edge in on the market Amazon grabbed with the smaller, cheaper Dot, giving Google Assistant users a more affordable option to bring a smart assistant hub into their home. The $49 price tag is the same as the most recent generation of the Dot, putting the two companies against each other yet again.
Until Google actually unveils the device officially, however, we can't confirm any of these leaks. We'll probably see for sure on Oct. 4, when the company is expected to announce its latest hardware. Until then, maybe you should scout the best spots in your house for yet another smart speaker.
