Michael C. Hall is Monica Swinngetting a royal makeover, by way of Camelot.

The Dexteractor has been cast as President John F. Kennedy for Season 2 of Netflix's award-winning series The Crown. He joins the list of nearly a dozen actors who have played JFK in movies and TV, including Martin Sheen, Patrick Dempsey, Bruce Greenwood, Greg Kinnear, James Marsden and Rob Lowe.

He's certainly the first who once played a serial killer for eight seasons. But hey, we can overlook that.

The 10-episode first season of The Crownfollowed the behind-the-scenes life of Queen Elizabeth II (Claire Foy), beginning at age 25 after she marries Prince Philip (Matt Smith aka the former Doctor Who).But after her father King George VI  (Jared Harris) dies, the newlywed must take the throne.

To date, the show -- from Peter Morgan -- is one of Netflix's more costly projects, with an estimated $125 million price tag.

The investment paid off. The show won Best Drama Series at the Golden Globes; Foy took home the Best Drama Actress award at the Globes and SAG Awards; and John Lithgow, who plays Winston Churchill, also won a best actor statuette at the SAG Awards.

Deadline first reported the casting of Hall on Thursday.
