The tea that is the failed acquisition of iRobot by Amazon must not have been too scalding, because Amazon still has a soft spot for Roomba deals.

On and off throughout the year, Amazon drops prices on top Roombas (among other competitive robot vacuums) by up to 50%, whether that's during a shopping holiday like Black Friday or during a random week.

Prime Day certainly isn't random, and though the lead-up was a bit dry, Roomba deals have come out in full force as of July 16, offering savings of up to 50%. We were keeping our fingers crossed for a sub-$900 price tag on the Roomba Combo j9+, and Amazon more than delivered with a $799 sale price.

Why we like it

We were keeping our fingers crossed for a big price drop on our favorite Roomba come Prime Day, and thankfully Amazon delivered. Though $799 is still an investment, the j9+ will give you your money's worth and then some, offering impressive navigation and small object detection, a SmartScrub technique that'll deliver a deep clean, and enough suction power to thoroughly clean your carpets.
